Adiflow is a dictation app that runs entirely on your Mac. This page explains what it does with your voice and your text. The short version: nothing leaves your Mac, and we never see any of it.
Your voice
Adiflow turns on the microphone only while you hold the dictation key, or while hands-free recording is on. Audio is passed to Apple’s on-device speech recognition and is not saved to disk or sent anywhere.
Your text
Transcripts are cleaned up by Apple Intelligence running on your Mac, or by simple rules if Apple Intelligence isn’t available. The result is pasted into the app you’re using.
Adiflow keeps a history of your dictations so you can find and copy them later. It’s stored only on your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/Adiflow/History.json. You can delete single entries or clear it from the app, or remove the file yourself.
Your dictionary
Words and corrections you add are stored on your Mac in ~/Library/Application Support/Adiflow/Dictionary.txt.
Your clipboard
To type text into other apps, Adiflow briefly places it on the clipboard, pastes it, and then restores what was there before. It marks the entry as temporary so clipboard managers can skip it.
Network
- macOS may download Apple’s speech model for your language the first time you use Adiflow. That download is handled by macOS.
- Adiflow has no account, no server, no analytics and no crash reporting of its own.
Permissions
- Microphone: to hear you while you dictate.
- Accessibility: to notice the dictation key while another app is in front, and to paste the text into it.
You can turn either off at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
